Depth Integration and Embodiment Guidance
Holding space for deep inner transformation, within your own home
To me, True Embodiment is the remembrance that there's more to you than meets the eye, and that it's simply waiting to be lived. Not only thought about, felt, or moved through, but truly lived, with every fibre of your being.
Imagine going through most of your life blindfolded, relying on signals and directions from the people and world around you because it felt like you had no other choice. In time, you'd forget you had ever been able to see. Now imagine remembering that the blindfold can come off, and that you can see for yourself again. Which direction would you go in? Who, and what, would you allow yourself to be?
You are your own expert and guide. That's the belief at the heart of this work, and one I hold passionately. Given a safe, supportive space, and some tools, pointers and reflections along the way, you can tap into a remarkable inner resource. It can guide you towards what most needs attention and integration, in you and in your life, at exactly the right time, and with gentleness and patience. Integrated, healed, resolved: to me, these are one and the same.
What I've consistently seen emerge from working this way is an invigorating sense of empowerment, and a trust in yourself that only grows stronger with time, and with choosing, again and again, to have your own back.
The Offering
I come to you, across Brighton, Hove and into East and West Sussex. Sessions take place in your own home, where your life is actually lived, and last 90 minutes. It’s the way I most love to work, and it means this is still open to you if getting to a clinic would be a barrier in itself: if you’re housebound, living with illness or disability, finding it hard to leave the house, or in the early months with a new baby.
Each session begins with talking. From there, we follow what's present and alive in you, guided by your intuition as much as mine. That might mean staying with an emotion or sensation in the body, with a gentle and sincere willingness to listen to what it's trying to say. Breath, movement, sound or simply sitting in presence may also be called for. Often, this opens a line of communication with younger parts of ourselves that may have been holding pain for a very long time.
Going there never means being thrown in at the deep end. You set the pace and nothing is forced, and alongside any opening we build your ability to steady yourself, so you can stay safe, centred and balanced as the work deepens. There's no fixed protocol, and that flexibility is the point. The one fixed boundary is that there's no touch, ever.
This work moves through every level of you that you’re open to connecting with – physical, emotional, mental, energetic and spiritual – because I don’t experience these as truly separate. I’ve found that nothing fully integrates until it’s understood. I don’t mean analysed, or talked through until it makes sense in your head. I mean understood in the whole of you, so that something genuinely settles. That takes time, which is why sessions are 90 minutes rather than the usual 50-minute hour, and why the work can unfold over months rather than a handful of sessions.
Building Your Inner Resources
The steadiness we build in sessions isn't only for our time together. A core part of this work is helping you build your own inner support: a deeper sense of safety and stability, and a self-directed gentleness, acceptance, forgiveness and love that come from inside you rather than from me or anyone else. The aim is that, by the time we finish, you can meet whatever comes up in your life without needing someone else in the room. Much of this is learning to lean into your own intuition and let it guide you.
Intuition is an immensely powerful and very real quality, present in all of us. Tragically, intuition and feeling have often been belittled and minimised in our society, seen as fluffy or somehow "weak", while we've been raised to favour logic, rationality and "doing" instead. I've witnessed first-hand the pitfalls of relying on thinking alone, and what becomes possible when it's balanced with intuition and feeling. So I choose to live from a place of trusting them and honouring them, and in our sessions there's room for yours to lead too.
The Foundations
I hold three degrees in psychology – a BSc in Psychology, an MSc in Foundations in Clinical Psychology and Mental Health, and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy) – and worked for years in the NHS as a Clinical Psychologist across varied settings.
After years of feeling a strong pull between what I sensed people actually needed and what the system allowed me to offer, I decided to forge my own path.
In the same spirit, I’ve chosen not to pursue certification in any single named modality. Instead, my approach grew from my own research across body, mind, spirit and consciousness, tested on myself first and later refined in my NHS work. If you're familiar with approaches like Somatic Experiencing (SE), EMDR, CBT for trauma, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) or Trauma Release Exercises (TRE), you'll recognise many of the same underlying mechanisms in how I work. I believe I also offer something those approaches miss on their own.

Depth Integration and Embodiment Guide
Who This Might Be For
This may be for you if you’re:
Wishing to take fuller ownership of your life and make deeper contact with your authentic and fullest self
Seeking to be more empowered to work confidently and independently with distress, trauma and inner shadow
Wanting to go deeper after trying traditional talking, trauma, body-based or energetic therapies
Doing the spiritual legwork but still meeting the same recurring challenges
Highly empathic and sensitive, and wanting to feel safer within yourself and the world
Wishing to feel more present, balanced and open within your relationships
Navigating rapid shifts, openings or awakenings of consciousness
Going through significant changes in your sense of self and identity
Simply feeling that inner pull to connect and take a leap into the next chapter of your life
And if you’ve never done any inner work before, you’re just as welcome. You don’t need experience, only a willingness to begin.
Who This Might Not Be For
This isn't a crisis service or a substitute for medical or psychiatric care. If you're currently experiencing an acute psychotic episode, or there's an active and immediate risk to yourself or others, please contact your GP, call NHS 111 and choose the mental health option, or in an emergency call 999. Samaritans are also there any time on 116 123.
The work itself is for adults only, and isn't offered alongside any talking therapy you're currently having, though other body-based work can be discussed case by case. If something acute does come up once we've started, we'll look at it together and decide honestly whether it can be held safely in this work. If it can't, I'll support you to get the right help.
A little more, if you’d like:

Many people, myself included, have had deeply healing experiences of talking therapies and mental health support. Often, though, these approaches are built around a particular model: a set way of understanding what's going on for you, and what should help. The trouble with a fixed model is that it decides which parts of your experience are seen as relevant, so the work can only go as far as the model reaches. Without anyone intending it, you end up having to fit the model, rather than the model fitting you. The sense of who knows best can also quietly settle with the practitioner, rather than with you.
And when an approach doesn't help, it's all too easy to come away feeling like you've failed at it. That sense of failure is incredibly common, and it very often says more about the fit than it does about you.
So I work integratively, drawing on a wide range of approaches rather than any single one, and shaping the work around what best suits you: where you are right now, what you need, and what your own intuition is telling you. Everything I bring here, I've tested on myself and with others first. I’ve seen what it can do, and a big part of that is because it follows you: you remain the expert on your own experience of growth and unfolding.

My favourite role in the NHS was in perinatal mental health, where for three and a half years I worked with mothers and babies in their own homes: bonding and attachment, trauma after a difficult delivery, low mood following birth, and the intrusive, frightening thoughts that can arrive with new motherhood, alongside so much more. If you're in that season of life, babies up to a year old are always welcome in the room.
This role also allowed me to witness first hand and deepen my existing understanding of how pain, trauma and unhelpful patterns, if left unmet, can be passed down through the generations.
Trauma is one of my strongest areas, and I've worked extensively with it in every form, from single overwhelming events to the deepest and most complex. It isn't only the big, obvious things like war or a serious accident. It can just as much be the quieter things that built up over time, like growing up without enough safety, warmth or being truly seen, or moments that were simply more than you could take in at the time, however they might look from the outside. I've seen people move a long way through all of it.
And while I won't reduce you to your trauma, I came to see very clearly that it underlies almost all of what often gets labelled as mental illness or mental health difficulties, and often even plays a role in the genesis and maintenance of physical expressions of pain and distress. The symptoms that get characterised, sometimes usefully and sometimes less usefully, into diagnoses are simply human experiences. For example:
anxiety in all of its flavours
chronic avoidance patterns
trauma flashbacks and reliving
low mood
persistent and repetitive thoughts and accompanying mental and/or behavioural compulsions
distressing unusual experiences and beliefs
comfort and safety-seeking through reliance on substances or behaviours
difficulty in experiencing safe connection with yourself, your body and others
feeling like your whole way of being is somehow wrong, too much, or fundamentally flawed
and so much more.
All, in my opinion, stem from the pain we carry that we may well have forgotten was even there in the first place.
If you have a diagnosis, you're welcome to bring it, use it as shorthand, or leave it at the door. I know the language and what sits behind it, and I won't ask you to pretend it isn't part of your story. But it isn't how I see you. Beneath every label is an innocence that's intact and untouched, and that's where I choose to place my attention.

What I offer, first and foremost, is a safe and steadfast presence. I know those darkest places within us intimately, and intensity is something I welcome warmly, without judgement or the need to fix it. Rage, terror, grief: I can remain fully present with all of it, without needing it to be smaller or quieter for my own comfort. That steadiness comes from years of my own deep inner work, and it means you can go as far into something as you need to, without having to look after me while you do. I also know how much it can matter to feel you're not alone in what you're going through, and I'm happy to share from my own experience where it feels right.
What looks like darkness is very often innocence that got buried under something painful, still waiting to be seen. I know that working gently and skilfully with our pain allows for powerful inner transformations, and it would be my greatest joy to hold space whilst you learn how to empower yourself to do this.
What I won't do is carry your pain for you. I stay grounded without taking on what's in the room, and that's deliberate: if I carry it, you don't get to build your own capacity to hold it. For the same reason, other than for general admin and scheduling, there's no contact between sessions. The session is the space, and the time in between is yours to integrate what's moved and what continues to arise within your experience.
The work has a natural ceiling too, not a target: it's built so that, over time, you come to need this less, not more.
